Meet Jo

Jo has been working in mental health for over ten years and a therapist for eight. In 2018 at the University of Denver, Jo was instructed to write a research paper about something that intrigued her. A few spark moments led her to writing about psychedelic assisted therapy. This passion got ignited through travel to Central America in 2021. There, Jo has noted a need for therapeutic spaces to exist to weave the psychedelic experiences into ones life. Thus, when Jo’s Journey Work LLC was created in January 2022 and transformed into Hazel River Therapy in 2025.

She has her Masters in Clinical Social Work from University of Denver with a concentration in health and wellness. She is currently a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Colorado.
